Playing octave fiddle

I've found I've been playing my octave fiddle a lot lately. I think some of that is that I'm now comfortable enough with it to play it continuously instead of just on certain kinds of tunes. (Previously I was only up for playing it for tunes where a very growly aggressive sound was apropriate; I've gotten better at playing other feels on it.) It was especially nice when jamming at neffa; unlike mandolin I can hear myself, and I can play either tune or chords as needed.

It was kind of fun how at neffa someone in every group I jammed with asked what sort of instrument it was. I hope more people decide to make them.
